Noel Washington addressed a, packed house, delegates' Council on Tuesday 8 July. Noel has been charged by the Australian Building and Construction Commission for refusing to attend one of their forced interrogations. A tactic now used by the ABCC to intimidate workers not to participate in union activities.
Noel received a standing ovation from delegates and the full support from Geelong Trades Hall. A resolution was unanimously passed demanding that the unjust laws be repealed and that all anti-union task forces like the ABCC be abolished.
Geelong Trades Hall is now preparing for large rallies and protest for when Noel attends court.
