Time to finish the job, Tear up WorkChoices was the theme for the meeting held a Geelong Trades Hall on Tuesday 19 August. The meeting was addressed by Cath Bowtell form the ACTU and Bronwyn Halfpenny from VTHC.
Members were informed of where things are up to with the proposed new IR laws and the Federal Government process. It was clear there is a need to raise the flag of YR@W again to make sure the new laws come in soon and are written in the interest of workers.
The meeting resolved to meeting next Tuesday to plan and organise activities. (See Whats On).
It's time to hunt down a few politicians and "finish the Job".
