Social and Community Service workers in Victoria have launched a new campaign call RESPECT THE WORKER - Sustain the Services. The Campaign is aimed at increasing funding for welfare organisations so experienced and quality workers can be retained. Lisa Darmanin, Australian Services Union Assistant Secretary, Said. " wages for people who helped homeless, violence victims, problem gamblers and drug and alcohol addicts had not budged in a decade."
Workers meet at Geelong Trades Hall on 16 September to discuss the campaign for a new Enterprise Agreement.
