Jenny Kruschel, TCFUA Assistant Secretary, addressed a mass members meeting outside the Hyuck factory in Breakwater, Geelong on Monday 29 September. After reporting back on the outcome of the AIRC hearing which, has moved to a mediation process, members discussed further action and the campaign.
Members reaffirmed their rejection of the boss's 2% pay increase that the has had on the table for several months as totally inadequate. The meeting also resolved unanimously to increase action through rolling shift stoppages beginning on Monday 6 October if mediation is stalled or fails.
Geelong Trades Hall provided equipment from one of its 'Picket Line Kits'. Members received a hot breakfast before the meeting and Official from the Postal Union arrived with fire wood to make sure the fires can burn as long as the members want.
