Greetings to all the comrades at the South Coast Labour Council. Last wee they celebrated their 80th anniversary with a conference that brought together union leaders, workers and the community. The 2 day conference included debates on privatisation, the new IR laws, stopping the ABCC and growing through community unionism. The leaders of the ACTU, Sharan Burrows and Jeff Lawrence were among the many to address the conference.
In these difficult times it was inspiring to see the Labour Council leading the way on providing a well organised forum for all to thrash out ideas and to help work out which way forward.
Tim Gooden from Geelong Trades Hall attended and gave greeting along with other TLCs from across NSW.
Thanks to Arthur Rorris, SCLC Secretary for the invitation, the solidarity will be returned.
