  • 3rd Wednesday of the month the Plumbers Union members meeting is 5.00pm at Geelong Trades Hall.
  • Last Wednesday of the month at 12 noon the CFMEU shop stewards meet at the CFMEU office on Fyans St.

Support Huyck Workers

Workers at Huyck Wagner in Geelong have being trying to negotiate a new wages agreement for several months. But the boss is only offering 2%. This would mean workers go backwards in real terms.

The TCFUA, AMWU and the ETU have taken out protected action and the workers had a 24 hour strike on Tuesday and they are going for another 24 hour strike on Thursday 18 September. There will be a BBQ at the front of the factory on Fellmongers Rd, Breakwater from 7-10am so call in and say Gday and have a solidarity sausage.

Geelong Trades Hall endorsed this campaign and actions at the last Council meeting and calls on all affiliates to support the workers.
